  • Image Description A series of four special armlets were introduced in February 1916 and were used as a recruiting tool. They were dyed cotton with the King's crown in the centre and the letters G R on each side. The khaki armlet with red printing was issued by Group Officers for class 1 men who had enlisted and passed fit for service but were awaiting call up.
